About Me

I started custom grazing another guys cattle in 2013 with zero experience. I have since learned a ton about cattle and grazing. When I started I was to just put weight on the cattle then after 4 years of that we switched to a grass fed cow/calf operation. I now have a few of my own cattle mixed in with the guys cattle I manage. Together we leased 176 acres which has 26 water spigots scattered around the farm. This makes it's super easy to supply the herd with water daily as I move the herd to new grass.

For a couple years, I tried following the cattle with a mobile chicken coop, at first things were going great. We had a restaurant in Columbus, Ohio who was buying our eggs as fast as we could collect them. The hawks became a serious issue. In one months time, I lost close to 20 chickens. That was the straw that broke the camels back and I removed the poultry from the leased farm. They now free range here at my home along with a few ducks. From time to time we do raise a few pastured turkeys but only at home and not the leased farm.

Working with the cattle because a serious passion, I couldn't get enough of them, so I ended up fencing in a few acres at my place to have a couple head there too and I love it. Last spring I added two Nigerian goats to my home pasture, 1 male and 1 female, just this last January they had 2 kids so now I have 4 goats.

Currently managing cows, calves, goats, chickens, ducks and honey bees.
